During my recent city trip to Mauriac, I had the pleasure of staying at the charming Auv'Hôtel, nestled in the heart of Auvergne. The first thing that stood out was the exceptional warmth of the owners, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant—from providing local insights to assisting us with reservations for the small spa that featured a rejuvenating hot tub and sauna. The rooms were modern, bright, and air-conditioned, which was a delightful find amidst the typically warmer climate of the region, especially valuable after a day of hiking in the nearby breathtaking landscapes around the impressive Puy Mary. While the breakfast offered a delightful continental spread, a small note of caution: dining options in town can be limited in the evening, so do check ahead if you plan on not needing transportation for meals. With secure parking for our bikes and free Wi-Fi, Auv'Hôtel combined comfort with convenience, making it an unforgettable base for exploring the area's outdoor adventures. Whether traveling with friends or indulging in some well-deserved solitude, this hotel caters to every need while preserving the essence of the stunning Cantal region.
